Dr. Manfred Chiang is an experienced bariatric surgeon, dedicated to providing the best surgical care and minimal discomfort for patients. He is one of few Wisconsin surgeons using advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques, which create smaller incisions and are less invasive than traditional weight loss surgeries. Dr. Chiang has been practicing surgery with Brookfield Surgical Associates since 1996.

As one of the first surgeons in Wisconsin to perform laparoscopic bariatric surgery, both the LAP-Band® and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedures, Dr. Chiang is recognized as a pioneer.

Dr. Manfred Chiang served in the military upon completing his residency, where he created a bariatric program for the U.S. Navy in 1992.

Dr. Chiang has published articles in well-respected journals, including “Laparoscopic Surgery Can Be Performed Safely in the Community Hospital Setting”, which was published in the Wisconsin Medical Journal.

As a nationally recognized leader in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery, Dr. Manny Chiang is invited to attend meetings for experts in obesity care. Some of his presentations include being a guest speaker on the LAP-BAND system for the Milwaukee Academy of Surgeons and a talk on “Laparoscopic Bilateral Adrenalectomy & Cushings Disease” for the Wisconsin Surgical Travel Club.

Dr. Chiang has been dedicated to helping individuals suffering from obesity since 1992, when he created a bariatric program for the US Navy. Upon completing his military duty, Dr. Chiang joined Brookfield Surgical Associates and has spent the past 15 years devoted to providing exceptional surgical care.
