Dr. John DeBarros is one of Arizona’s leading bariatric surgeons, performing hundreds of weight loss procedures each year. He holds many impressive distinctions, including certification by the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is a Certified LAP-BAND® System Surgeon. Prior to his surgical career, Dr. DeBarros was a Pharmacist and Director of Pharmacy Services, which contributes to his wide array of experience and expertise in the field of medicine.

Due to his dedication to his weight loss surgery patients, Dr. John DeBarros co-founded and operates the state-of-the-art East Valley Surgery Center in Tempe. His goal for the center is to provide a safe and comfortable surgical setting for bariatric surgery patients from Tucson, Phoenix, Scottsdale and beyond.

Dr. DeBarros is a partner, medical director and one of the lead surgeons at the Weight Loss Institute of Arizona. In addition, he is co-owner and Chairman of the Board of the East Valley Surgery Center and co-owner of the Surgical Hospital of Phoenix.
