Dr. Gregg Jossart has served as the Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco since 1999. He has performed over 2500 complex laparoscopic procedures. His professional interests include bariatric surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and endocrine surgery.

Dr. Jossart is one of a few surgeons who developed and perform the Laparoscopic Duodenal Switch operation as early as 1999. He has also accumulated a personal experience of over 700 laparoscopic Sleeve gastrectomy operations in both high risk patients and low BMI patients.

Dr. Gregg Jossart’s 12 years of clinical experience with the sleeve gastrectomy and the duodenal switch procedure has made him a leader in both the technical aspects of the procedures and long term postoperative management.

Dr. Jossart has published over 20 articles, book chapters and videos over the last 24 years. Most recently, he has completed technical chapters on Sleeve Gastrectomy and Hiatal Hernia repairs.

Dr. Gregg Jossart is invited to participate in presentations all over the world, particularly to share his expertise in the Sleeve Gastrectomy and Hiatal Hernia repairs. In the last 12 months, Dr Jossart has presented in San Antonio, Long Beach, Washington D.C., New York, and Australia (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne).

In the duration of Dr. Jossart’s surgical career, he has performed more than 2,500 laparoscopic procedures. These procedures include 4 different weight loss operations, nephrectomy, splenectomy, adrenalectomy, diaphragmatic hernias, and reoperative surgery.

Dr. Jossart is an active researcher and together with his colleagues has presented clinical results and outcomes at the American Society of Bariatric Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and Digestive Diseases Week.

Dr. Jossart is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, and member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT).

Dr. Jossart has been honored with the Minnesota Medical Foundation’s George H. & Lilian K. Williams Scholarship, as well as the Minnesota Medical Foundation Undergraduate Student Research Award.
