Dr. David Engstrand was one of the first surgeons in Wisconsin to begin performing advanced laparoscopic bariatric surgery. He joined Brookfield Surgical Associates in 1987 and has since helped thousands of people successfully lose weight. Dr. Engstrand is highly respected and has held numerous leadership positions at Elmbrook Hospital in Brookfield,Wisconsin.

He is also involved in medical education through his position of Assistant Clinical Professor at Marquette University.

Dr. Engstrand has presented his work at medical meetings across the country, including his article “Peritoneal Lavage in Fecal Peritonitis”, which was presented at the Milwaukee Surgical Society, earning the distinction of First Place Paper.

Dr. David Engstrand has been recognized for his scholarly achievements and was awarded the National Merit Scholarship, and earned the academic distinction of Summa Cum Laude at Concordia College.
