Dr. Scott Cunneen is a nationally-recognized bariatric surgeon, with extensive research credit and experience in laparoscopic surgical procedures. He has served for more than 10 years as the Director of Bariatrics at the Center of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

A leader in the area of metabolic and weight loss surgery, Scott Cunneen, MD is often called upon to teach the latest techniques to surgeons throughout the country. He has been asked to speak at dozens of presentations, even traveling to Germany to discuss the safety and effectiveness of gastric bypass surgery in super obese patients at the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES) 14th International Congress.

Dr. Scott Cunneen is an avid researcher, most recently working as Co-Investigator for several monumental studies including a Single-arm, Multi-center Study of the Safety and Effectiveness of the Swedish Adjustable Gastric Band (SAGB) in the Treatment of Morbid Obesity, and an Assessment of Vocal Cord Damage or Impaired Vocal Cord Function after Prolonged Intubation.

In addition to serving on a variety of committees at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Cunneen is an active member of several professional organizations including the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, American Obesity Association, American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, American Medical Association, and California Medical Association.
